The four of us founded HANDI in March 2012 because we were excited by what was happening in the emerging health and care apps community and we believed we could make a real difference to it delivering on its’ promise.
HANDI has reached its current stage of development through our unpaid efforts and those of a larger group of volunteers who have given time and resources way in excess of that they originally pledged. However, if we are to move to the next level we can’t rely totally on voluntary effort and need to raise funds and hope that a significant part of this will come from the new levels of paid membership we have just launched. We ask that if you want to see our work continue that you contribute by signing up either as a paid individual or corporate member.
We believe HANDI’s strengths are:
- We are a very broad community covering all those with an interest in health and care apps and other lightweight digital tools.
- We are agnostic on the key choices facing app users and developers and can offer impartial advice on these matters .
- We are agile and able to rapidly respond in the fast changing world of digital health and care in a way other organisations cannot.
Our immediate plans are to be able to fund some part-time administrative support and professional web development to improve our services to members and so that our volunteers can concentrate on those things they can do better and only they can do. We also want to offer some paid internships so we can get some bright young things help turn our many ideas in to reality and help develop the next generation of commercial and social entrepreneurs in digital health and care.
If you value what we have done then please support us sign up now and if you want to tell us what you think we should do next to best meet your needs please complete our questionnaire if you have not already done so.
