NEW mHealthHabitat team National Event Launch:- People-driven Digital Health & Wellbeing launches on 13 May at the Open Data Institute (ODI) in Leeds ...

... with early evening free drinks and nibbles plus networking 18:30 - 19:30.  The following speakers will share their vision for people-driven digital: Tim Kelsey - national Director for Patients and Information at NHS England, Jen Hyatt - Chief Executive and Founder of Big White Wall, and Anne Cooper - Clinical Informatics Advisory (Nursing) at NHS England.

This will be followed by a health/housing/social care curry hosted by the Shirley Ayres @shirleyayres and Paul Taylor @paulbromford at the Aagrah restaurant (people to pay for their own meals during this part of the evening).

The following day takes place 10.00am-17.00pm and features lightning talks (speakers to be announced), open space conversations and a challenge: how can we unleash people-led digital innovation in health and wellbeing? The answer to this question will take the shape of a White Paper with a series of recommendations to be presented to and considered by Tim Kelsey, national Director for Patients and Information at NHS England.

At the event will be launched an initiative to stimulate and support people-led digital innovation – go along to find out more!

The evening and day events are both free. However, if you work for an organisation which can afford to make a contribution then a £30 donation is suggested - this means another place for someone who can't.

The organisers would like all attendees to take a gift to share on the day – it may be something baked or your latest annual report – something small that others will value and appreciate.

This event is being organised by the mHealthHabitat team in partnership with some amazing digital entrepreneurs.

HANDI Director Dr Ian McNicoll presented a practical workshop at Digital Health Assembly Cardiff held 10th – 12th February 2015, about building software applications that incorporate the Open Electronic Health Record Data Model.

The workshop presented an overview of the ‘openEHR’ open specification (openehr.org) and showed how openEHR tools, methods and data platform can underpin an agile, open standards-based healthcare information platform.

Using the HANDI Open Platform Demonstrator (handi-hopd.org), attendees were taken through practical examples of building vendor-neutral clinical information models.

The relationship of openEHR to other emerging agile e-Health specifications such as HL7 FHIR and SMARTPlatforms were also explored.
